Iāve been running with kwallet on, but the kde setting to store WiFi passwords system-wide instead of per-user in wallet, and this seems to have fixed both the login/wake/unlock issue, and WiFi not connecting on boot
Mia@mia.pds.parakeet.at
turning kwallet off shouldāve done it but failing that Iāll switch to greetd from sddm.
Unsure if it fixes one of the other weird sleep/hibernate issues but I think (hope) the freeze on wake is gone?
atproto desperately needs a way to deactivate on a per-service (per lexicon namespace?) level. wanting to tune out of one service shouldn't mean removing your entire atproto identity.
finally, after years, I am documenting my goddamn truenas ACL situation, in some vague attempt at understanding what I actually need this nightmare for
we'd be doing a lot better if folks would stop assuming malice every single time something goes wrong, especially about things that are highly nuanced and extremely difficult to manage. things going correctly ~99% of the time and having ~1% of things go wrong doesn't immediately invalidate the 99%.
for extremely normal and extremely professional reasons, I am considering inserting gifs into a word document. I have been assured this is possible and I do not know how to feel, but it *is* useful in this circumstance
I am without chocolate eggs today, for it is February, and also nearly midnight, but oh my god I cannot get over this bit and *clears throat* need! (towards the end of the Dorley chapter āOld Soldiersā)
Mia@mia.pds.parakeet.at
yeah he does, Steph.
anyway, think i need another chocolate egg after that ending
just discovered some awful behaviour in my lastfm scrobbler (it duplicates if I pause a song for long enough after 50%/4m) and now I'm back to wanting to write one in Rust
(is this anything? I have like four permutations of this and theyāre all this bad) (90% chance Iāve seen this somewhere and itās not original lmao)
you ever think about how if you or I had Money we would, like, upgrade our gaming PC, get some life-saving medicine, pay for dinner for our friends, commission art of our blorbo, help out with somebody's mutual aid. and instead all these people took trips to Sex Crimes Island and get to run society
npmx is the first of many projects that will flourish from the relationships and bridges between communities we'll cultivate during the following months

the highlight of the npmx hype train for me is the folks it has brought out and given a new exciting thing to collaborate on
the idea is secondary to the reinvigoration of the community
mentioned this in my year end leaflet, but think I might make an actual goal of getting myself to fosdem next year, because it sounds like itās popping off with ATProto +adjacent peeps this year
