Claude, plz rewrite wordpress in rust. Yes all the plugins too. No I don't just mean the source code, I mean like, go replace everybody's wordpress install.

You don't have access, well funny thing...
SE Gyges @segyges.bsky.social
if you aren't a huge nerd this is terrifying and very funny

php is trash. insecure by design. we have known this forever.

it still runs some very high fraction of the entire internet, including all wordpress sites and for some reason tumblr

anyway everyone using it may be pwned
An embargoed security issue in PHP leaked and it is extremely serious: all versions >5.4 are affected.

No patches are available yet.

I highly recommend shutting down any PHP services until the patch is available—that's how severe this issue is.
Bad day to launch my PHP based certificate authority
What if websites were—hear me out—static documents‽

Your personal site, blog, company landing page, or project documentation shouldn’t have to be running a server-side application framework to be served.

Web apps that are actually applications: sure, of course. But more websites should be static.

Good morning, Malmö! I’m excited to hang out with and learn from people building messaging and social experiences on the open, decentralized #Matrix protocol. 😊

And if you have any questions about
@roost.tools, our open source trust & safety tools Coop & Osprey, or T&S in general, I’d love to chat!

Legitimately my first experience at Matrix Conference: a group of people from Matrix walking in with two giant IKEA bags full of blåhaj. 🌈🦈
A few weeks ago, I shared the idea of analyzing contributors’ text for signs of automation. Now it's an app and a GitHub Action you can add to your anti-clanker Swiss Army knife.

It's still an ongoing experiment, but it seems to capture the patterns in PR and issue descriptions reasonably well.
We have a hard time conceptualizing the difference between a "I want to code this in my spare time and make something that's fun for me and others" or "I want to build a community project" or "I want to build a product" or "I want to build a startup" and it fucks us all up at many different levels
A new issue of This Week In GNOME is now online!

Imposter syndrome keeps thousands of developers out of open source.

You don't need to be an expert to contribute to projects like GNOME. Start by reviewing PRs or fixing the README. Maintainers want consistency and willingness to learn, not flawless code on day one.
not to sound like a flagrant asexual (though I am one), but why are we even wasting time with sex when ripe Barlett pears exist?
This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.
I'm honored and excited to share that I've been appointed as a member of WikiNYC's Board of Directors!
