I survived. Driving to work last Monday morning, full of negative thoughts, I nearly drove into oncoming traffic to feel some kind of release. A third attempt. Only potential harm to others stopped me. Recovering on SSRIs, two weeks off work, pacing slowly. I'll find the old version of me again.
